Finance Center for South-South Cooperation and Phoenix TV Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement

Beijing April 24 -- Director-General, Mr. Wu Zhong, attended the “One Belt, One Road” Partner Conference of Phoenix TV. Representatives from international organizations, government agencies, embassies and consulates in China, industry associations, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations, and enterprises attended the conference to discuss SDGs and global partnerships. The topics of South-South cooperation and triangular cooperation were discussed in depth.


 


The opening ceremony was highlighted by speeches from the head of FCSSC, Mr. Daniel Gustafson, Deputy Director-General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, Mr. Jorge Chediek, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for South-South Cooperation and Director of the UN South-South Cooperation Office, Mr. Zhan Xiaoning, Director of the Investment and Enterprise Division of the United Nations Trade and Development Organization, Mr. Nicholas Rosellini, UN Resident Coordinator in China, and Mr. Liu Changle, Chairman and CEO of Phoenix TV. Mr. Wu Zhong, Director-General of the Finance Center for South-South Cooperation, participated in the panel discussion on the topic “Internationalization of Chinese Enterprises to Help Sustainable Development.”


 


The representative of FCSSC emphasized the importance of partnership in his speech. “By creating an open platform, promoting multilateral partnership and creating win-win cooperation are critical to achieving sustainable development goals,” President Xi Jinping proposed to build a community with a shared future for mankind. The “One Belt, One Road” initiative an excellent practice of this concept. It emphasizes on actively promoting the building of partnerships, interconnection and pragmatic cooperation of countries along the route to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. 


 


In the discussion session of “Internationalization of Chinese Enterprises to Help Sustainable Development,” Mr. Wu Zhong acknowledged internationalization of Chinese enterprises faces challenges from infrastructure, and regulations and policies environment. The Finance Center for South-South Cooperation supports as a platform to help Chinese companies to share China's development experience abroad, and to improve and implement according to local conditions, hence achieving a win-win situation.


 


On the same day, Mr. Wu Zhong, and Mr. He Dazhao, Executive Vice President of Phoenix TV, signed a strategic cooperation agreement to explore innovative cooperation in the field of sustainable development.


 


During the Second “One Belt, One Road” Forum for International Cooperation, political leaders from all countries gather in Beijing to discuss international matters and the opportunities and challenges of the “Belt and Road Initiative” to countries. The Finance Center for South-South Cooperation will continue to participate in related activities, providing support and create opportunities for sustainable development.
