FCSSC Director General Wu Zhong was Invited to Attend the 2024 China Social Responsibility Investment Summit Forum

From May 30 to 31, 2024, the "2024 China Social Responsibility Investment Summit Forum (IFCII) " was held in Shanghai. Dr. Wu Zhong, Director General of FCSSC, attended and spoke at the forum. The forum was hosted by the China Institute for Inclusive Finance (CAFI), co-hosted by CBN Research Institute and Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.


With the theme focusing on "Building a Sustainable Future", the forum launched extensive discussion about the significance and feasible practices of sustainable finance in enhancing new quality productive forces and building a sustainable future, focusing on the role and actions of financial institutions in the context of sustainable development, and how socially responsible investment can better serve S&M enterprises and stimulate market vitality. 


Dr. Wu, DG of FCSSC, made an important statement at the panel discussion "Is ESG a Passport for Companies to Go Global". He pointed out that there is great significance for China’s enterprises going global in the current global and domestic context. He also shared the practical experiences of FCSSC in helping enterprises develop and land sustainable investment projects in South-East Asia and Africa. Meanwhile, he emphasized that it is timely for China to promote impact investment with a good foundation, which is conducive to showing China's image as a responsible major country and helping achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.


Before that, as a member of the Committee, Dr. Wu was invited to attend the closed-door committee meeting and financial luncheon of the forum, exchanging ideas and thoughts with other invited guests.


During the 2-day Forum, more than 60 experts, scholars such as Tu Guangshao, Executive Director of Shanghai Jiaotong University Gaojin, Bei Duoguang, President of China Institute for Financial Inclusion (CAFI), Sun Xiaoxi, Co-Chairman of IFCII, Xu Yaowu, Director of Shanghai Financial Stability and Development Research Center, Sir Ronald Cohen, Chairman of GSG Impact, Zhang Meiling, Regional Director and Chief Representative of Ford Foundation Beijing Office, and representatives from the private sector attended and spoke at the summit forum. Together, they explored the broader pathway of financial cooperation and innovation in sustainable development sector.
